ABOUT US
The Pluralist Foundation is a non-denominational, non-partisan registered charity that began in January 2015. Its objective is to spark conversations and actions that celebrate diversity and pluralism in Canada and beyond. It also aims to build enhanced understanding of diverse Muslim identities and their interplay within the Canadian mosaic.
The Pluralist Foundation (TPF) will advance, promote and support its objective through a variety of means including research and learning; community engagement; youth mentoring; community leaders training (public/private sectors), to name a few.
We hope to promote pluralism and build bridges of international cooperation by drawing on the expertise and rich heritage of diverse diaspora communities in Canada to the rest of the world.
TPF welcomes project proposals and ideas from anyone who has an interest in building a diverse, inclusive, respectful and compassionate Canada.

PROJECT #1
One of the charity's principal concerns is the misinformation that feeds the symbiotic relationship between Muslim extremism on one hand and Islamophobia on the other. Neither of these extremes consider the existence of many different types of people with different beliefs, opinions, and needs.

the idea that being Canadian and Muslim are not at odds.
REALIZE
that Canadian Muslims are comprised of a diverse community of peoples, practices and traditions.
CELEBRATE
the positive contributions of Canadian Muslims and the patriotic members of this very Canadian and diverse community.
CHALLENGE
the misguided stereotypes of the Canadian Muslim community.
INSPIRE
young Canadian Muslims towards peace and progress and prevent anti-Canadian sentiment.
DRIVE
action and attitudinal change by amplifying the reach of our messages among ALL Canadians. As a first step towards achieving such change, The Pluralist Foundation engaged the company SJR to co-produce a video, a brief description of which is given below. A link to the video follows.

The Pluralist Foundation’s goal is to build mutual understanding among diverse communities in Canada and beyond. The Pluralist Foundation also seeks to join other peaceful efforts to prevent racial intolerance and extremism of any sort from spreading across Canada . To achieve this goal, we will collaborate with like-minded partners through interdisciplinary research, dialogue, mentoring and training to help build strong, compassionate and innovative leaders for the present and future. We invite you to help us build dynamic pluralistic communities where future generations will have a chance to breathe clean air, drink clean water, enjoy safe neighbourhoods, and celebrate their differences.
